Much of Big Bear Valley is experiencing winter white-out conditions. Highway 18 and 38 are under R3 conditions meaning everyone must chain up. We could receive another seven inches on top of the two feet that have fallen over night. Here is the lastest from the NAtional Weather Service:
A PACIFIC STORM WILL BRING WIND AND SNOW TO THE MOUNTAINS. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO 7 INCHES ARE EXPECTED WITH ISOLATED LARGER AMOUNTS TODAY THROUGH THIS EVENING. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL BE DOWN TO 3500 FEET.
GUSTY WEST WINDS 20 TO 30 MPH…WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH AT TIMES. THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS…PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOW…REDUCED VISIBILITIES IN DENSE FOG AND BLOWING SNOW…AND SLIPPERY ROADS WILL MAKE TRAVEL HAZARDOUS TODAY THROUGH THIS EVENING.
