Snowing in Big Bear

The west valley is clouded over and precipitation appears immanent. A special weather statement has been issued predicting the possibility of snow above 5000 feet with the possibility of a couple of inches of POWDER! A wind advisory remain in effect until 10:00 PM.

 

National Weather Service: A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVING INLAND THROUGH CALIFORNIA TODAY AND INTO THE GREAT BASIN TONIGHT WILL BRING COOLER TEMPERATURES… STRONG GUSTY WINDS IN THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS…AND SCATTERED SHOWERS ALONG AND WEST OF THE MOUNTAINS. SNOW LEVELS WILL BE AROUND 4500 TO 5000 FEET WITH A COUPLE OF INCHES OF SNOWFALL POSSIBLE ABOVE 5500 FEET.

 

AREAS OF WEST WINDS INCREASING TO 20 TO 30 MPH IN THE AFTERNOON WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH. WINDS WILL BE STRONGEST NEAR RIDGE TOPS AND ON EAST SLOPES WITH ISOLATED GUSTS TO 60 MPH POSSIBLE. WINDS WILL DECREASE OVERNIGHT.
