Snow Conditions and Things To Do

It’s 11:00 AM on Saturday. Temperatures are in the 50′s  (Mountain Temperatures), it looks like most off the snow-making equipment has been turned off. If you’re planing on snowboarding or skiing, early morning and later in the day will be ideal. For off-roading, try Polique Canyon (

MAP). You’ll need a 4×4 and a cell phone (check your reception). There may still be some challenging snow drifts. Hiking is best in the east valley where most of the snow drifts are melting.  If you want an easy walk, try the Alpine Petal Path (

MAP). There are some people fishing the shores of the lake, especially at Stanfield Cutoff. Regaedless of your outdoor activity this weekend, dress warm, we are expecting winds.
