Snow coverage is excellent. Both Resorts have a two to four foot base of machine groomed hard pack. Since the high temperatures today will be in the mid-fifties, the best conditions will be in the morning and mid to late afternoon. The winds will be blowing at 15 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. As the week progresses, the temperatures will get slightly colder, Sunday’s high temperature will be 50 degrees.
Bear Mountain was rated the #1 Park in the nation by Transworld Snowboarding’s 2009 Poll. The Park has 80 jibs and 150 jumps, designed by riders, for riders. This week’s new feature is the 55 foot step down on Gambler. The in-ground super-pipe is 580 feet long, 77 feet wide and the walls are 18 feet high. There are multi-level jibs and jumps all across the mountain.
