Big Bear enjoys two Resorts, Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. Both Resorts have features and jibs for both snowboarders and skiers. Bear Mountain tends to cater to snowboarding and Snow Summit attracts skiers and families.

Snow Summit has 240 developed acres with two high speed quad chairs, four triple chairs and five double chairs. The top elevation is 8,200 feet, allowing for a 1,200 feet vertical drop. The longest run is Westridge, at 1.25 miles. There is plenty of terrain for all levels of skiers. To view virtual reality panoramas of the mountain, click here.

Two Parks have been developed, the Ego Trip and the Fun Zone. The Fun Zone caters to beginners and the Ego Trip has both beginner and intermediate jumps and jibs.

An all day adult lift ticket at either Snow Summit or Bear Mountain is $53 ($66 on peak weekends) and a half day is $43. They are open Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4:00, with night sessions on most Friday, Saturday and Holiday evenings.

The video below was done in 2007 during the Paul Mitchell “Freeskiing” Event. It was shot over at Bear Mountain and gives an excellent view of the terrain and features.
