From what we can see across the Valley, road conditions are variable. Temperatures range from a “warm” 36 degrees in Baldwin Lake, to 31 degrees at the base of Bear Mountain and 28 degrees and fogged in at Bear Peak.
Road conditions aren’t expected to improve. Precipitation has been scattered all day. Some roads are icey right now and most will freeze as the afternoon temperatures dip. Here is a special weather advisory for the San Bernardino Mountains from the National Weather Service:
…NOW…
SCATTERED…MOSTLY LIGHT SHOWERS WILL BE MOVING EAST AT 10 TO 15 MPH THROUGH 11 AM. RAINFALL RATES WILL BE MOSTLY UNDER ONE TENTH OF AN INCH PER HOUR. THE SNOW LEVEL IS ABOUT 5000 FEET. ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LESS THAN ONE INCH. LOCAL DENSE FOG AND SLIPPERY ROADS WILL MAKE TRAVEL HAZARDOUS IN SOME AREAS.
