
Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest
The Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest celebrates the final day of the 39th annual Oktoberfest with a special German Spooktacular.” Children 12 and under dressed in costume will be admitted for FREE, as well as all Military, Police and Firefighters. The weekend’s festivities include a Children’s Costume Contest and an Adult Costume Contest.along with the 2009 Championship Log Sawing and Steinholiding contests.
Prizes will be given for the top three costumes in both the children and adult contests. More than $500 in prizes will be given for the adult contest prizes including a Jagermeister Tap Machine, mini kegs, steins and certificates for the 2010 Oktoberfest.
The Children’s Contest takes place at 3:00 p.m., the 2009 Championship Log Sawing and Steinholding takes place at 6:00 p.m. and the Adult Costume Contest at 9:00 p.m. Closing Ceremonies for the 39th annual event takes place at 11:00 p.m.
The Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest has provided non-stop traditional German fun for almost four decades. General admission (for nonmilitary and non-law enforcement personnel) is $12.00 for more-German Spooktacular adults, $9.00 for seniors (65+), and $6.00 for children (3 -12 years). Gates open at 12:00 noon with festivities continuing through 12:00 midnight on Saturday.
