The highest altitude Oktoberfest celebration in the US is open for reservations. Celebrating 39 years in the tradition of Olde Germany, the Big Bear Lake Convention Center was built in the shape of an Oktoberfest tent from Bavaria.

The rest is history.

You will sample some of the best beers, straight from Germany. I’ve been blessed to taste the new Oktoberfest Brew for over 6 years, and each time the flavor is unique to the season and outstanding in flavor.
The German brewmasters don’t seem to allow the same flavor each year. Oktoberfest Brew is the sample of the year’s harvest. Each year, it has the unique bouquet and taste of that year’s harvest. And, is it GOOD!

Join us to salute the fresh taste of  2009!

You know who you are!
Come on!
Get a cabin reservation from one of Big Bear’s great rental places.
We know how to take care of our visitors! Don’t forget to pickup some bundles of wood. You won’t regret it.

This year, the last day is Halloween! Be ready for something special and don’t forget your costume!

STIMULUS PACKAGE FOR VACATIONERS

Free Visa Gift Card

Free Visa Gift Card

Up to $100 in Free Visa Gift Cards Eases Vacation Planning in Down Economy

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif./ April 9, 2009Big has a stimulus package of its own. Free Visa Gift Cards provide overnight guests up to $100 in spending power. Guests booking five or more nights at a participating lodge receive a free $100 gift card, guests booking three or four nights receive a complimentary $50 gift card, or a free $25 gift card for guests booking one or two nights stay at a participating lodge. The gift card program begins April 20 and ends November 23, 2009. Bear Lake

Visa Gift Cards can be spent more readily and distributed more widely than previous Big Bear Lake Resort Association (BBLRA) gas card promotions. BBLRA is optimistic that its free Visa Gift Cards will create stimulus within the mountain resort community or wherever its guests opt to spend their money.

“They can fill up their gas tanks, go out to dinner, rent a pontoon boat, buy groceries or buy souvenirs,” said Big Bear Lake Resort Association CEO Ken Brengle. “Gift cards give our guests more freedom to spend it any way they choose, at just about any place that accepts Visa. It’s a real economic booster.”

The gift card program is ideal for vacation planners searching for bargains and seeking a destination close to home. One noticeable trend in travel during the down economy is people are traveling closer to home, which makes Big Bear an ideal escape for residents in Southern California and Southern Nevada. Big Bear is an easy two-hour drive or less from most Southland cities and three and a half hours from Las Vegas. Big Bear offers a wide variety of alpine-style lodging that fits every lifestyle and budget. Lake

“Big Bear offers the best of both worlds during these economic times. We’re close to home, yet far, far away from it all!” added Brengle. “What’s even better is the Free Visa Gift Cards are an absolute smoking deal!”

The free Visa Gift Card offer for $25, $50 and $100 begins April 20, 2009 and ends November 23, 2009 (non-holiday). Minimum night stays vary per lodge, and other restrictions may apply. The free gift card promotion must be mentioned at the time of booking. A $25, $50 or $100 Visa Gift Card (redeemable at any place that accepts Visa Debit Cards), will be given to the guest at check-in.  Limit one gift card per reservation. This offer may not be used in combination with any other offer.
