Big Bear History Clifford Lynn Ski Area

 

This is an article written about the Clifford Lynn Ski Resort, on eof the first snow play area in Big Bear Lake CA

Scenic chair lift rides may be enjoyed at Clifford Lynn ski Area on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. 

The chair lift is at a 7,000-foot elevation, is 3,000 feet long, and has a 700-foot rise.  The maximum height from the ground is 28 feet.  Lift capacity is 250 people per hour.    

In the Ski season the chair lift serves three main runs and a snow bowl at the top.  The snow bowl has a 700-foot rope tow with a 250-foot rise.  The three main runs range from three-fourths mile to a mile long with a 700 foot rise, and four runs branch off with a 900 foot rope tow, with 300 foot rise in this area.

Also available for the skiers is a sling lift at a 7,300-foot elevations, 1,700 feet long, with a 400-foot rise.  The capacity 150 per hour, and one rope tow in this area is 800 feet ling, with a 250-foot rise.  This area is a large bowl shaped side hill, all cleared and is good easy skiing – not too steep, it is a place where the entire family can have plenty of fun, off by itself about a ten minute hike from the lower terminal of the chair lift.

WINTER SCHEDULE:         All equipment operates daily, subject to snow and skiing conditions.  Hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

SUMMER SCHEDULE:       Chair lift operates Saturdays, Sundays and all holidays.  Hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Located just north of the village area.  Watch for signs.
