Corvettes West Big Bear Bash 2009- Corvettes West’s Big Bear Bash takes place from June 26th to June 28th. Public events include the People’s Choice Car Show at the Bartlett Parking Lot in The Village on Friday June 26th from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Low Speed Autocross at the Big Bear Airport on Saturday June 27th from 8:00 AM til 3:00 PM and a Poker Rallye around the Lake on Sunday July 28th at 10:00 AM. Canoe Tours at The Discovery Center- Learn how to canoe on a leisurely 2-hour guided tour of beautiful Big Bear Lake. After a quick paddling lesson, you will cruise along the shore looking for beaver, great blue herons, and ducklings. Along the way you will learn the natural history of the Big Bear Valley along with the various flora and fauna found in the area. Children must be at least 6 years old and all children need to be accompanied by an adult. Includes water and a snack. Tours caravan to lake. Tours are limited to 14 people, reservations recommended. Soroptimist Home Tour- Ever wonder what our castles-in-the-sky look like on the inside? Well this is your chance to get a sneek peek at the craftmanship, architecture and decor or many of Big Bear’s most beautiful homes. Ticket price is $25.00 and tickets are available at the Visitors Center at 630 Bartlett Road. Tour is self-guided and you will receive a map when you purchase your ticket. CATS presents: “The Wizard Of Oz”- The CATS summer musical will be “The Wizard of OZ”, with music and script based on the movie. Featuring all of the movie’s favorite characters, it’s sure to be a family favorite! The musical plays for 13 performances: June 26, 27, July 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10 &11 at 7:30 p.m. and on June 28, July 5, & 12 at 1:30 p.m. All performances are at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center. Tickets range in price according to dates and location: Adults: $9.95 – $22.95; Seniors: $8.95 – $20.95; Under 18: $6.95 – $15.95. Movies on the Beach: “Hotel For Dogs”- Saturday Night, The Big Bear Valley Parks and Recreation and the Kiwanis Club present the movie “Hotel For Dogs” at the Swim Beach at Meadow Park. Admission is FREE. Gates open at 7:00 PM and movies start at 9:00 PM. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Snack bar will be open. Ticket holders may bring their own cooler, food and beverages. No Glass Please. All proceeds to benefit the Big Bear Youth Center. Starlight Symphony Interlude at the Discovery Center- Saturday Night, The Arts Council of Big Bear Valley presents the Bella Musica Flute Quartet in concert at The Big Bear Discovery Center Amphitheatre on Saturday June 27th.
